Katy Lesser, Owner of Healthy Living Market, South Burlington, has been named the US Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 2010 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year. We are famous for 20 years of memorable customer service and a complete selection of natural and organic foods. We have had a strong commitment to our community, and involve ourselves in community outreach, local organic agriculture and providing jobs to nearly 100 local people. Healthy Living was a baby store back in 1986, when we bought it from Thomas and Lauren Greither. They had started it the year before, and soon realized that owning a natural foods store really wasn't what they wanted to do. The little store was 1200 square feet and we had about 25 customers on a good day! After about seven years of learning how to actually run a business, we doubled our size. In 2007 we moved to our current location and have been happily playing store ever since. Healthy Living is owned and operated by Katy Lesser and her son Eli Lesser-Goldsmith.
