Flourish Body Care has returned!

We would like to welcome Flourish products back to our shelves! As some of you may have heard, Flourish was wiped out due to the events of Hurricane Irene this past August. Not only did they lose everything in their house, they also lost absolutely everything related to their business. But due to the help of their friends and family, Flourish has been able to overcome these terrible losses and has started to produce their beloved body products again. Their story truly shows how well Vermonters stick together during hard times.

We currently have Patchouli Tangerine, Honey Blossom and Lavender Mint for shampoo and conditioner as well as various body mists, lotions and scrubs back on our shelves. We will have more stock and options for Flourish as soon as possible. Plus they are introducing new products this year so keep an eye out for those!

Blackbear Moon Lupercalia Will Call!

Join us for this special event in the Learning Center on Sunday, February 19th 2012 from 5-8 p.m. We will have Blackbear Moon for sale as well as Lupercalia oils and Yule scents. We also have Labryinth perfume prototypes for trying as well.

Why we love the brand 100% Pure

We have been carrying products from 100 Percent Pure since 2008. I remember receiving the sales brochure from them in the mail and freaking out over how great everything sounded. Since I am personally a big fan of skin products that sound or smell edible, there was no way I was going to let this line pass us by.

Organix South Therapeutic Body Butters

Our favorite neem oil company Organix South has come out with a new line of ultra healing, highly concentrated body butters for everyday use. There are five kinds to choose from: Argan, Neem, Sea Buckthorne, Kukui and Tamanu.  These precious, therapeutic oils are encased in a base of coconut oil, jojoba, shea, beeswax, castor oil and vitamin e to to nourish your body and face.

My favorite of these is the Argan body butter.

Argan Oil comes from the seeds of the Argan trees in Morocco. The seeds are cold pressed and used for cooking as well as keeping the skin healthy, firm and moisturized. Argan oil has been produced and used this way for centuries and all of the Argan oil that is sold today comes from a women’s cooperative in Morocco. The coopertative supports the ecosystem of the Argan tree (to ensure that they do not die out) as well as provides healthcare, education and steady income to the women of Morocco.

I like to use this right after I get out of the shower. I put a small amount in my hands and then rub my hands together to melt it. Since these body butters are so rich and concentrated they do require some emulsifying with application.
