Locally raised meat and poultry are the bedrock of this department. We have been working with local farmers for over 20 years and are honored to offer the finest meat products we’ve ever eaten! Vermont can be very, very proud of its farmers who’ve risen to the occasion to provide a steady stream fantastic meat products. Unprocessed seafood comes to us 6 days a week, fresh off the boats.

MEAT and GREET this Holiday Season!

Admirers of fine meat, step right up and permit your mouth to water as you peruse the seasonal delicacies currently available in Healthy Living’s Meat Department! Vermont farmers have outdone themselves, supplying us with an unparalleled array of locally raised meats and poultry. Using traditional European techniques, our own Healthy Living team of butchers and chefs have been busy crafting rustic charcuterie infused with local herbs and spices: Duck Rillettes, Hunters Terrine and more. For the piece de resistance – star attraction of a top-notch feast- we have several impressive cuts to choose from, including a LaPlatte Farms Rib Roast, aged no fewer than 60 days right here on site, and house-made Italian-style Porchetta from Vermont Family Farm. For a feast full of locavore love, visit our amazing Meat Department, talk to Frank, Dom and the guys and get the very-merry best!


Bread and Butter Beef Available Soon!

For those of you who caught our sneak preview of the Bread and Butter beef options last week and everyone else who might be wondering about different Grass-fed beef options here’s the scoop.

During the past few years we at the Meat Department have been working to develop relationships with farms around the state. We have had the pleasure of doing so with Bread and Butter Farm who, in the upcoming months, will be supplying us with their delicious beef. These cows are a mix of Brown Swiss and Angus and are 100% grass fed. They roam over the nearly 100 acres of prime grazing land that Bread and Butter has to offer, resulting in some amazing grass fed beef. Stop by Bread and Butter on Friday nights from 4-7 for Burger Night and taste the difference! And stop by the Meat Department in the upcoming months to try your favorite cuts of beef done up right by our meat cutting team.

The biggest point of pride we have in the Meat Department is working with local livestock that is pasture raised and free of antibiotics and hormones. We’d like to see a test-tube steak stand up against a Jericho Settlers Farm Rib-eye or a Hardwick NY Strip.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU EVERYDAY?
One major inspiration comes from positive customer satisfaction with our products. It is our goal to do the best job we can to produce a top quality product. We really enjoy, look forward to, and are inspired by the positive comments we receive. After farming since 1981 we recognize our diversification can be a big source of inspiration. It has allowed us to realize many opportunities as a family operated farm now and for the future.
