Fri, Feb 3 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
jozef

In this spectacular demonstration, join Chef Jozef Harrewyn from The Chef’s Corner Café as he shows you how to prepare some his favorite dishes.  Chef Jozef’s food is  beautiful and classic and in this class he’ll show you how simple it is to prepare in your own kitchen. Watch, taste, and learn how things that seem challenging, can be easy to prepare with a few basic techniques and a couple solid tricks.  Chef Jozef has many years of experience from competing in international culinary competitions to teaching at the New England Culinary Institute and more.  In this class Jozef will prepare dishes from his childhood homes of South Africa and Belgium that he’s nostalgic about as well as classic French preparations for pastry.  100% of the profits from this class will be donated to the Williston Food Shelf.

About Chef Jozef:

Chef Jozef Harrewyn was born in Antwerp, Belgium.  His family immigrated to South Africa at the age of 8. Brought up in his family’s restaurant and bakery Jozef began learning the craft of cooking and baking during a two year apprenticeship with his father at the age of 18. Jozef attended culinary school in his original home of Antwerp, Belgium and then inVersailles, France. Specializing in Garde Manger, Pastry and Baking during school and as an intern, Jozef immigrated to Canada to join the Four Season Hotel group as executive pastry chef. He returned to South Africa as his family’s business expanded.  During his time back in South Africa, Jozef competed on the 1984 World Culinary Olympic team.  After starting a family with his wife Pam, the Four Seasons brought Chef Jozef to the US.  The rest is delicious history! Jozef has taught at the New England Culinary Institute, competed in many national and international culinary competitions and helped bake the inaugural cake for President Clinton.  Chef Jozef owns the Chef’s Corner Café in Williston and Burlington, VT, and is a proud member of the VT Fresh Network.
