New Products 11/6/17 (Vermont)

November is here. Time to bust out the chunky knits and fire up the woodstove. At Healthy Living we are stocking the shelves with November treats. Fruit-wise we’ve got seasonal goodies like fresh cranberries straight from the bog, silky and sweet persimmons, and pucker-worthy meyer lemons! It’s also unofficially baked-good season, so we’ve rolled out some scrumptious shortbreads and biscuits brands for you to try. Get these new products and get cozy… you are in for a treat.

Produce

Organic Hachiya Persimmons- Honey-sweet, this type of persimmon is most delicious when completely soft and custard like. Look for shiny skin with no cracks and enjoy!

Organic Meyer Lemons- These are thought to be a cross between lemons and mandarin oranges. They are bursting with lemon flavor but without the tartness that comes with your regular “Lisbon” or “Eureka” (common) lemon. They’re exceptionally juicy, and the rind is thinner and sweeter than a regular lemon, too, so you can eat it!

R&G Chevre- Available for the month of November. Made in Troy, NY by master cheese maker Sean O’Connor; we’re bringing this great chevre to VT for our guests to enjoy. The milk is sourced from farms in the Hudson, Mohawk and Hoosick Valleys. We have four of their chevres that are definitely appropriate to the season: Pumpkin, Apple Cinnamon, Fig, and Maple Chipotle.
