Summer may be winding down, but no tears! Now we get to enjoy the perfectly ripe produce that has taken its own sweet time getting ready. Especially juicy, luscious melons in all shapes and flavors. The variety will blow your mind! And speaking of mind-blowing, we’ve got some sweet (and yes, healthy) treats that will amaze and delight your taste buds. These truly unique items include protein bars made with sunflower protein – and chocolate truffles containing CBD. What a wonderful time of year!

Produce

Diggers’ Mirth Collective, Pitchfork Farm, and Full Moon Farm Local Organic Watermelon – We have sugar babies! We have yellow watermelon! We have Sangria, we have Starlight! Some have seeds, some are small, some are large – chances are on any given day the melon choice is different, so don’t wait to try some before the season is over.

Last Resort Farm Local Organic Garlic – Newly cured garlic from Last Resort is sweet and juicy. This year they have harvested more than 6 varieties of soft and hard neck garlic, and they have about a ton to sell!

Half Pint Farm Local Shishito Peppers – Shishito peppers are smoky, snacky peppers that are mostly sweet – until you get a hot one. They’re best sautéed, salted, and eaten hot out of the pan.

Champlain Orchards Local Plums – The folks at Champlain Orchards are not only expert apple growers and cider masters, but they also grow several varieties of plums, all of which come through our produce department whenever they are ripest. In season now, Shiro plums are mildly sweet, petite yellow fruits, with a tangy skin and are excellent for cooking or eating fresh.

Last Resort Farm Local Organic New Potatoes – VT Farm: You would think a potato is just a potato, but you’d be missing out on these beauties. New potatoes have tons of earthy and sweet flavors and are the perfect size and mix of colors for impressive potato salads.
