VT Cook – BOH Café (Full Time)
If you LOVE food, ROCK at cooking and are PASSIONATE about serving others then we have the job for you! We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable individual to join our Cafe BOH team as a Cook!
Our Cooks create a wide-range of culinary delights from eclectic to classic that include vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and meat-loving options. These items are part of our grab n’ go cases as well as our deli case and provide delicious food for our guests to enjoy in our cafe or at home. The excellent Cook at Healthy Living creates every dish as if it were for his/her own family. The Cook takes care to use only the freshest ingredients for his/her dishes and never cuts corners in the cooking process, ensuring that each dish is consistent from one execution to the next. Finally, our Cooks know that we eat with our eyes first and makes every batch of food visually stunning, colorful, and abundant.

Grocery Stockers at Healthy Living are responsible for the maintenance of all products on the sales floor and in our back stock area as well as light merchandising of our end caps and various displays throughout the Grocery Department. VT AP Specialist (Part Time) – Temporary

We’re looking for a temporary AP Specialist, the person responsible for assisting our accounting office with daily tasks to ensure timely payment of invoices and office organization. You’ll be part of a dynamic company that boasts 30 years of solid growth, lots of staff happiness, and amazing customer loyalty.
- Qualifications: High School diploma required, Associates degree in business or accounting preferred. At least 1 year previous Accounting or business office experience
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Sets up new vendors accurately and timely in the financial system and performs vendor maintenance
- Ensures accurate and timely input and electronic filing of all incoming invoices
- Ensures accuracy of payment by reconciling all checks to the invoices and/or reviewing check run information from a third party vendor
- Ensures all weekly checks are stamped and mailed out in a timely manner
- Ensures accurate electronic filing, maintaining consistency with naming conventions and file locations
- Responsible for the weekly AP run
- Tracks and communicates AP payments due, outstanding and issued
- Researches vendor payment inquiries to assist with reconciliation of statements
- Assists with mail sort

VT Kitchen Steward (Part Time)
The Kitchen Steward plays a unique and central role for the entire café team. The Kitchen Steward takes great care and pride in ensuring that the café BOH is kept to the highest sanitation standards. This is done by ensuring that general sanitation and deep cleaning of the kitchen and walk-in coolers is completed on a regular basis. The Kitchen Steward also plays a vital in to ensure product freshness and quality. She/he is responsible for putting away all of the café delivery’s and rotating all product in a FIFO method. The Kitchen Steward also helps to support the Dishwashers (who are the backbone of the kitchen operation) and is responsible for dishwashing approximately 40% of his/her shift to cover high volume times and breaks.
The excellent Kitchen Steward knows that sanitation in the kitchen is of the utmost importance. He/she knows that it is his/her job to ensure the safety of our guests and staff by maintaining a clean kitchen that could pass a health inspection with flying colors any day of the week. The Excellent Kitchen Steward maintains a well organized walk-in where FIFO (First In First Out) is their mantra. Food is clearly labeled and cooks can easily find everything they are looking for in a flash. Food in our storage areas is always fresh and cared for with the utmost respect. The excellent Kitchen Steward always follows the standards set by the Dept of Health for proper cleaning and food storage procedures.
The best candidates will have great attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and kitchen experience is preferred.
VT BOH Lead (Full Time) – Evening Position
Healthy Living Market & Café is seeking a self-motivated, knowledgeable and passionate leader to take on the role of an evening Lead/Rounds Cook in our Café – Back of House (BOH). As the BOH Lead this individual will be responsible for overseeing all staffing and kitchen operations in the absence of the BOH Manager during the evening hours. He/she will be the main point of contact for all BOH staff and will act as a liaison between BOH and FOH staff.
The excellent BOH Lead will always stay calm under pressure, remain positive, ensure staff members are happy and productive and effectively lead the café team to delicious success when the BOH Manager is not in the house! This individual will be a role model for staff; following all café procedures and protocols as well as enforcing them among the rest of the café team. This individual needs to be a great multi-tasker, delegator and communicator ensuring that all tasks are getting completed as necessary and regularly communicating with BOH Manager/Executive Chef. As a Rounds Cook, this individual will be effectively able to cover and assist with ALL other kitchen positions based on the daily needs, whether in the Hot Bar, HMR, Packaging, Prep Station, Sandwich/Salad Station, or Dishwashing.
We are looking for individuals with at least 1 year of supervisory and leadership experience in a professional kitchen environment, as well as at least 3 years of professional kitchen experience. VT Assistant Category Manager
Healthy Living Market and Café is searching for an Assistant Category Manager! This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of category managers who are experts in the selection, merchandising, pricing and promotion of the incredible local and national brands and products we offer our guests in our NY and VT retail stores.
A successful Assistant Category Manager contributes to the profitability of Healthy Living Market & Café by increasing the volume of products that are sold and improving the speed of inventory turnover within the category. As part of achieving category goals, Assistant Category Managers often assist the CM with price management and in-store organization of products. This person will need to have a working knowledge of the systems, procedures, products, consumer needs, buying practices, sales goals and retail environment related to designated merchandise category(s).
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in the following areas:
- Strong background with merchandising and vendor relationships preferred
- Additional experience with product purchasing, financial analysis, and inventory control
- Specific expertise with the sales and marketing of specific products within the merchandise category
The successful candidate will have, at minimum, a working knowledge of the following:
- ECR Catapult or other POS back office/inventory management system(s)
- Ability to analyze data
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Minimum of basic MS Excel skills
Bachelor’s degree in business, retailing, management, sales/marketing, preferred.
