Wine of the Week – Domaine de Couron Rosé 2011

With summer weather here early this year, we’ve jumped in head first into one our favorite times – rosé season! If you haven’t tried rosé in awhile, they’re not your grandmother’s sweet white zin. Dry rosés from Southern France, Italy, Spain and even Austria are some of the most delicious, refreshing beverages on the planet.

This week we are highlighting one our top picks – Domaine de Couron Rosé. Every year this is one of our favorites, and also happens to be one of the most inexpensive rosés on the market. From a small, family run operation in the Rhone Valley of France, Domaine de Couron Rosé is a pale pink wine, but don’t let the color fool you. It bursts from the glass with strawberry, cherry and watermelon. Lively acidity keeps this fresh and light and perfect with light salads, chicken or fish. And remember, real men drink pink!
