Healthy Living Loves Local: Sixpoint Brewery
Healthy Living Saratoga is proud to bring you our first July highlight in our Healthy Living Loves Local summer campaign: Sixpoint Brewery. We kicked off the celebration Saturday June 6th from 1pm-3:30pm with a six beer tasting of some of the best ales that Sixpoint has to offer.
Founded in 2004, Sixpoint Brewery is located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. Its symbol and name is representative of the six pointed brewing star that was a prominent symbol of the beer industry since the early 1900s. The reincarnated star proved to be both bold and beautiful and became the contributing image to Sixpoint’s success.
Sixpoint ales are brewed friendly for vegetarians and vegans alike, unless otherwise specified on their can. Their philosophy is “Beer is Culture”, and we at Healthy Living could not agree more. Sixpoint’s contribution to their local community is admirable as they team up with Beer Advocate each year to create a beer festival known as ‘Beer for Beasts.’ They brew truly unique, one-time offerings solely for this specific event. Local music and New York City food trucks adorn the festival and partake in the event. The best part? All proceeds of beer sold is given to the Humane Society of New York.
Love beer? Sixpoint has an original lineup of ales that you’re sure to find a favorite with. Healthy Living Saratoga carries The Crisp (a German-style Pilsner), Apollo (their Summer wheat seasonal), Sweet Action (a cream-style ale), Bengali Tiger (a single IPA), Resin (a double-IPA), and 3Beans (a rich Baltic Porter brewed with coffee from Stumptown Coffee and chocolate). All varieties come in packs of 4 cans each, so you can tote them along to all of your favorite events this Summer!
