Maple Ginger Breakfast Sausage
- 1 pound ground pork
- ¼ cup iced water
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 Tbsp fresh sage, minced
- 1 ½ tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp fresh garlic, minced
- ½ tsp sugar
- ¼ tsp pepper
- Olive oil, as needed
- In a medium bowl, mix together the iced water, maple syrup, ginger, sage, apple cider vinegar, salt, garlic, sugar and pepper until all ingredients are well combined.
- Add the pork to the mixture and mix well.
- Divide the sausage mixture into eighths and shape them into 2 ½ inch disks.
- Heat a skillet over high heat with a couple swirls of olive oil. Fry the sausage patties on both sides until they are completely cooked through, about 3 minutes per side.
- Serve while hot
