SBPD’s Brianne Williamson Heads to the Special Olympics

South Burlington Police Officer Brianne Williamson is headed to the Law Enforcement Torch Run that will kick off the Special Olympic World Games in Dubai! Brianne has been involved with the Special Olympics for the last eight years in a big way: she’s volunteered hundreds of hours and raised thousands of dollars for the organization.

This year she’s been selected to represent Vermont Law Enforcement in Dubai this February.  She’ll be participating in the torch run to ring in the World Games with 124 fellow officers and 10 athletes from around the world.

Healthy Living is proud to sponsor Brianne in this endeavor! We sat down with her to discuss the event and her journey to Dubai. Brianne expressed how grateful she was for the support from her community and especially that of her fellow officers and the staff at SBPD. She’ll be the only officer participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run from Vermont, and is excited to cheer on Vermont swimmer Kate Bove as she competes at the World Games.

Brianne hopes to hit her fundraising goal by the end of January. You can learn more and donate here: https://give.specialolympicsvermont.org/fundraiser/1672380
