A Day in the Dirt with Healthy Living Staff
On Saturday, May 3rd, a group of Healthy Living staff headed to Ethan Allen Homestead in the New North End of Burlington to prep a garden space to be tilled and planted in.
As part of the Vermont Community Gardening Network‘s (VCGN) second annual Day In The Dirt, our team removed a fence, dug up burlap sacks, salvaged wood chips and pulled up large rocks and debris from our assigned site. Here is our team in action:
Ashley, our Lead Dairy Buyer, moves a wooden post from the fence into a pile to save the wood.
Linda, one of our cashiers, saves the bird house for future bird entertainment.
Hunter, our Store Merchandiser, rakes up wood chips and debris from the dirt to prep it for tilling and planting.
Amber, Casey and Jordan having a laugh during clean up.
A huge thank you to all those who volunteered to clean up gardens all around Burlington on Saturday, and to the VCGN for hosting such a fun event. We look forward to future days in the dirt with our team!
