Artist of the month: Carol Hochreiter

We LOVE supporting artists! Each month we provide space for local artists to show their work in our Learning Center. This month we are proud to show the paintings of Carol Hochreiter. Eleven years ago, Carol signed up for her first watercolor class through the Council on the Arts in Plattsburgh, NY.  Since that time, she has enrolled in workshops in the North Country, Georgia, Arizona, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Vermont.  She is interested in experimenting in watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, collage, and mixed media. We are lucky to have her beautiful paintings in our store. Take a look at her work which hangs in the Learning Center the next time you come into the store. “My work is experimental, often abstract and non-objective. I enjoy playing with line, geometric and negative shapes, contours, and bright and muted colors in unusual combinations.  I am happiest when implementing new materials, experimenting with new surfaces and textures. or combining transparent and opaque watercolor, inks ,and collage.” – Carol Hochreiter
