Beer of the Week – Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

We’re departing from our regular listing of the Wine of the Week to make room for one of the one of the most highly anticipated seasonal releases from Brooklyn Brewery – their award winning Black Chocolate Stout. Once brewed exclusively for Russian Czar Catherine the Great, imperial stouts are making their way into the hands of craft brew lovers across the globe.

Dark as night with a lovely khaki head, this puppy smells dark as it looks with chocolate, coffee, char, and hints of black fruit. Dark chocolate, roasted caramel malt, oak, espresso, take hold of the palate and don’t let go. Touches of dark cherry, fig, and plum fill out the background, (not to mention more than a hint of alcohol). This big robust beer is not to be missed! At $7.99 a four pack it is also one of the best values in the world of beer. Grab a four pack, some Jasper Hill Bayley Hazen Blue and sip this monster by the fire. If you’re a fan of hugely malty stouts you won’t be disappointed.
