Caledonia Spirits Tasting!

Join us a t Divine Wines this Friday, June 3rd for a tasting of crafty cocktails featuring our favorite products from Caledonia spirits; Barr Hill Gin, Barr Hill Vodka & Barr Hill Reserve Tom Cat!

Caledonia Spirits founder, Todd Hardie, spent over forty years as a bee-keeper perfecting his raw, organic Vermont honey before incorporating it into craft spirits. “The best fertilizer is always the footprint of the farmer,” says Hardie. “Even with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture…the way you’re taking care of your bees and your people goes into every product – every bottle.”

Paired with Caledonia Spirits master distiller Ryan Christiansen, Hardie & Christiansen follow meticulous production practices beginning with cold fermenting the honey for at least three weeks. The next step is distillation through a custom designed still made from recycled stainless steel, a prime example of Hardie’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The results are one of-a-kind products that are exceptionally smooth, flavorful and unique. Hardie’s focus on simplicity and naturally sourced ingredients shines through each and every bottle.

Here are the recipes we will be sampling…

Gin N Jam
2 oz. Barr Hill Gin ($21.99)
1 oz. Lemon juice
.5 oz. Honey Simple syrup
1 spoonful Strawberry Rhubarb Jam

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain over crushed ice. Garnish with a spoon of jam resting across the rim.

 

Tom & Cherry
2 oz. Tom Cat Barrel Aged Gin (31.99)
.75 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz. Cherry Syrup

Build over ice in Collins glass. Stir and top with soda water. Garnish with a tart cherry.

 

Vermont Greyhound
1.5 oz. Barr Hill Vodka- ($29.99)
.5 oz. fresh Grapefruit juice
Sparkling dry Vermont hard cider

Build in wine glass or champagne flute
Drop three dried cranberries into glass to bounce around
