February Blog: Holiday De-stress

Even though the holiday season was over a month ago, I still feel as if I’m recovering! So much time was spent planning, traveling, shopping, cooking, entertaining, etc., and while it was enjoyable, it was also exhausting. If you’re in the same boat as I am, I encourage you to take the time you deserve to finally focus on YOU. Perhaps now is a good time to address those nagging health issues you’ve been ignoring these past couple of months? Make the necessary appointments but also consider approaching health care and wellness from a different angle by attending some of the fun and exciting events that Health Living Market puts on in coordination with licensed health care providers. Try a Pharmafoodie cooking class, attend one of the FREE grocery store tours and/or nutrition demos with the in-store nutritionists! Take a look at the Nutritionist calendar here for upcoming events.

In the meantime, you can start your holiday de-stress today at home… one of the best ways to care for yourself is to nourish your body with healthy, cleansing, and delicious foods- definitely don’t forget the delicious part! The list of my favorite foods for health and healing is endless, but if I had to choose ten, the following foods would definitely make the list…

1. Ginger
2. Kimchi
3. Kefir
4. Salmon
5. Citrus fruits
6. Tart cherries
7. Black tea
8. Kale or other dark leafy greens
9. Quinoa
10. Chili spiced almonds

Try to include at least one of these foods into you daily diet AND sign up for this month’s FREE grocery store tour to learn WHY these foods made the list. Joining us on the tour is Mindy Cohen, MS, PT, a certified CranioSacral Therapist. Mindy will discuss CranioSacral Therapy and the positive impact it can have on the healing process.
