Front End Fundraiser: Wilton Food Pantry
We are proud to be supporting the Wilton Food Pantry during the months of October and November 2015. Started in fall of 2010, the Wilton Food Pantry was started by a group of Wilton residents who knew there was a need for a pantry in town. According to their website, “the goal was to create a sustainable organization capable of assisting those in need by working in conjunction with individuals and community leaders, local organizations and businesses. Standing behind the motto “food is not an option, it’s a necessity” the group set out to formally establish The Wilton Food Pantry.”
How we are helping:
Healthy Living is partnering with the Wilton Food Pantry this year to donate a percentage of turkey’s sold to the local food shelf. In addition to buying a turkey, guests can also support the Wilton Food Pantry in a number of ways at Healthy Living during the holidays.
Now through November 30th we are accepting donations at our registers. We are doing what we can to help as they gear up for the cooler weather and the holiday season. Ask your cashier to make a donation! Every penny counts!
If you wish to donate food items the pantry, check out the drop of spots, times and their wish list on their website: http://www.wiltonfoodpantry.org/donate/wish-list
You can also donate food at our dedicated food drop in our front atrium. Look for the shopping cart and Wilton Food Pantry sign.
Also on the first day of Turkey pick-up, Tuesday November 24th, those customers that are grabbing their turkeys and are in the giving spirit, can pick up (or bring) non-perishable items to donate to Healthy Living’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. All donations will go directly to families in need this holiday season through the Wilton Food Pantry.
“Healthy Living has been a wonderful neighbor since opening their doors in the Wilton Mall three years ago. We appreciate this opportunity to raise funds, food and awareness,” said Dennis Towers, Wilton Food Pantry Co-founder & Board Member. “No one in our community should have to choose between food and necessities – this time of year is particularly difficult for many. Partnerships like this are crucial in helping fulfill our mission, this is truly neighbor helping neighbor.”
Thank you for supporting this amazing organization run by Wilton residents with HUGE hearts!
