Healthy Living at the Wilton Wildlife Festival 2013

On Saturday, June 1st, Healthy Living joined the Wilton Wildlife Preserve and Park for Wildlife Festival. We were there with lots of goodies and ice cold water!

The day was hot and sunny, but the community still came out to support the event. Event goers got a chance to learn about animals and birds of prey, to explore the pond, to pet the search and rescue dogs, and to hop in to the first firetruck used by the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department back in the 1940s!

Kids and adults alike had a chance to splash around in the pond to look for small fish and amphibians. In the bins below, the group is taking a look at tad poles and frogs.

Kids and their families got to do a little fishing themselves on Delegan Pond.

Burgers, hot dogs, and cold drinks were served up under the pavilion for folks to take a break from the hot sun and all the activities.

We had a great day meeting new people in the community, handing out KIND Bars, and spending time outdoors.

A big thank you to everyone at the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park for putting on a great event and for all of those who came out to celebrate National Trails Day and the amazing scenery at Camp Saratoga!
