Slack Hollow Farm in nearby Argyle has been certified organic for 19 years and is a family farm owned by Seth Jacobs and Martha Johnson, whose goal is to grow for TASTE.  Their sustainable farming practice and love of the craft has led to years of success and an exceptional reputation.

Formerly limited to a growing season between June and October, Seth and Martha were inspired to expand their operation when the local farmers markets in our region began to stay open throughout the winter.  Vegetables like onions, potatoes, carrots, beets and shallots could be grown in the summer and stored and sold throughout the year.  The use of high tunnels and a minimally heated hoop house allows the farm to offer fresh spinach, mesclun, bok choy and arugula in the warm weather months and also in mid-winter.
