How did you celebrate Saratoga Beer Week?
Saratoga Beer Week has come and gone, and boy was it fun here at Healthy Living & Cafe! We brought in Chef Colin from Powers Pub in Clifton Park to host our very FIRST cooking with beer/pairing with beer class! We also welcomed in Jim O’Connor, the Regional Manager of Long Trail Brewery who poured his beers for this dinner. The class first started off by creating a sun-dried tomato and pesto dip that was cooked with as well as paired with Wolaver’s Wildflower Wheat ale (so delicious!). Next, chef Colin cooked up some beer marinated beef tips with a coffee bacon jam. This recipe was used with and paired with Long Trail Double Bag, as well as Long Trail Amber Ale. The body of both beers stood up to the coffee bacon jam as well as the beef tips. This class was the first class and hopefully not the last, it was a huge blast! Chef Colin did an amazing job as did all the students!
