Looking for some scrumptious bread to grace your holiday table and not sure which to choose?  Why not try some of the amazing breads baked by our newest bread vendor: August First Bakery!

We couldn’t be more delighted to carry the completely delicious breads made by these lovely Burlington neighbors!  Committed to baking natural, healthy, from-scratch breads, their goal is to nurture everyone who enjoys their products and make them feel good after each and every bite!  Oh, and we can’t forget having fun: having fun is also a major goal for the fabulous people at August First!  Since we hope to enrich the lives of everyone who steps through our doors, this seems a natural partnership!

Phil Merrick and Jodi Whalen, who own the bakery, fell in love with each other in Vermont (and seem to have fallen in love with the area itself) and take their bakery’s name from a beloved poem by Vermont poet Hayden Carruth.  They use 100% organic flours sourced from King Arthur Flour of Norwich, VT as well as Meunerie Milanaise, in Milan, Quebec and craft their rustic, traditional, European-style breads using slow fermentation for tender loaves that are full of flavor and easy to digest.

With everything from an olive loaf to baguettes to a jalapeno cheddar bread featuring Cabot cheddar, they’re sure to offer something that will complement your winter feasts perfectly.

August First Bakery delivers fresh jalapeno cheddar bread, kalamata olive bread, baguettes, 7-grain bread, and country French sourdough breads every day Monday-Saturday.  We also receive deliveries of their fluffy hamburger buns every Wednesday and Friday.
