Otter Creek Fresh Slice

Fresh Slice 2

Otter Creek is easily one of my favorite breweries out there. They’ve been in the game for a long time and have done a wonderful job of keeping up with and most times surpassing the competition out there. Whether it’s with their seasonal releases or the classics, they always seem to delight my taste buds. They are also a brewery that is proud to say that they have been able to dramatically reduce their contribution to the waste stream by focusing on sustainability. Located in Middlebury, Vermont this is the perfect destination for a Saturday afternoon road trip.
I recently tried the Otter Creek Fresh Slice White IPA, and boy it did not disappoint. This beer perfectly compliments a day out on a lake, a camping trip with friends, or simply doing yard work. At 5.5% alcohol, Fresh Slice is light and refreshing with the ever so slight flavor of clementine. This beer is easy drinking and satisfying. This is an IPA so it does have great hoppy flavors, but it also has a hint of spicy Belgian yeast. I’m not usually a fan of the Belgian yeast, but I really didn’t mind it in the fresh slice because it was not overwhelming. The Fresh slice is unfiltered, which I don’t mind, but don’t be intimidated if you pour it into a glass and see some pulp floating; you can always decant the beer to help remove the sediment leading to a clearer beer.
I highly recommend this beer to everyone and anyone! Stop in and pick up a pack on your way to a BBQ and you’ll be everyone’s best friend for spreading the beer love. 5 out of 5 stars, A+, however you want to rate it, stop in and let us know what you think!
