Putting Up The Harvest with Peggy Thompson
Harvest season is at its prime – what are you going to do with all of the great produce? Are you worried that it’s going to go to waste?
Instead of rushing to eat it all, can or freeze it to use over the course of the winter! This Monday, Peggy Thompson will be in the Learning Center teaching how to can and preserve the season’s best veggies. She’ll discuss and demonstrate how to use both water bath and pressure cooker canning, as well as freezing techniques. On the menu are preserved carrots and canned tomatoes.
Thompson is from East Corinth, VT and grew up canning and preserving. With over 30 years of experiences in making her own jams, jellies, pickles, relishes and more, she is happy to share her skills with others and answer any questions you may have.
This demonstration costs $20.00. To reserve your places in this class, please click here to register or call Customer Service at (802) 863-2569 ext. 1.
