- 2 qts cantaloupe chunks (about a 4 lb melon)
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice, or to taste
- 2 Tbsp superfine sugar, or to taste
- 1 cup water
- Pinch of sea salt
- Lime slices for garnish
A nice fruit drink that we made with ripe Athena melons. Serve over ice and add a shot of vodka or gin if you are so inclined.
Working in two batches, place half each of melon chunks, lime juice, sugar, salt and water in a blender. Puree until smooth. If needed add more water for desired consistency. Adjust taste with sugar or lime juice as preferred. Pour mixture into a pitcher. Repeat procedure with remaining half of ingredients; stir into pitcher. Cover and chill thoroughly. Serve over ice and garnish with a lime slice if desired.
