Cardamom Rice

  • 1 cup Indian Basmati rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • Toasted cardamom pods (about 5)

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan with a lid.  Bring to a boil and then reduce to very low simmer.  Simmer until all the water is absorbed. Turn off the heat.  Fluff the rice with a fork and replace the lid to steam for 10 minutes.  Serve hot.
