Saratoga Fall Festival, rUNDEAD 5k, Head of the Fish Regatta
It was a busy weekend for the Healthy Living and Cafe event staff! We were proud to be sponsors of three great events and organizations.
The Saratoga Fall Festival was held on Saturday October 26th in Downtown Saratoga Springs, NY. This family friendly event is presented by the Saratoga Downtown Business Association. There was a costume parade, jugglers, magicians, and a pumpkin roll down Caroline Street which Healthy Living and Cafe was happy to provide green frisbees to the winners of each heat.
The rUNDEAD 5k was held on Sunday October 27th at the Saratoga Spa State Park. This is an event to benefit the excellent work done by Special Olympics New York.
Each runner started off with a flag belt and three flags. These flags represented their lifelines. Zombies throughout the course attempted to take these from the runners one at a time. If a runner lost all three, they were dead and the zombies won.
Healthy Living and cafe was on-site providing nourishment and good cheer to all the runners and even the zombies. This was a super fun event and we were happy to be there!
The Head of the Fish Regatta was held on Saturday October 26th and Sunday October 27th on Saratoga Lake and was hosted by the Saratoga Rowing Association. This annual two day event was attended by more than 2,000 boats from all across the East Coast, and even Canada.
According to Regatta Director Chris Chase, more than 9,000 people were racing, and he says that between racers and their dedicated family members and friends, Saratoga County and surrounding areas, saw upwards of 15,000 people this weekend.
Healthy Living and Cafe was happy to provide organic apples, organic bananas, and cases of assorted Clif Bars to the racers for the weekend. We look forward to working with this amazing organization and it’s rowers again soon.
