The Gluten Free Bakery, Chatham, NY
In 1977 The Gluten Free Bakery started as Our Daily Bread, making traditional, artisan loaves in the European style. They sold their hearth baked breads and handmade pastries at their Chatham cafe and at markets throughout the region and in NYC. Over the years, they heard from customers who were unable to eat gluten, and were seeking baked goods like the ones they had enjoyed for years at local market stands.
In the fall of 2011, Our Daily Bread moved to a new, larger space just down the street. That left them with an empty bakery, and a great opportunity to meet the demands of a growing number of people looking for a healthy alternative and a fresh gluten free option. After months of development and testing, they opened The Gluten Free Bakery, delivering their first loaves and cookies to market in February of 2012.
With decades of experience they approached gluten free baking from the approach of bakers. They brought all their experience and knowledge to the task of developing a line of gluten free products. They also brought their high standards and traditional techniques.

That means never, ever settling.
