What’s on My Plate

IT’S JANUARY. LET’S GET COZY!

The holidays are over, and now it’s time to settle in and enjoy the winter ride. I have outdoor plans because I’m a firm believer in being active all winter … just like we do in summer!

Staying healthy—free from the flu, that pesky common cold, and assorted viruses that chilly weather seems to bring—is the challenge. And on that note, I want to introduce you to our Wellness Category Manager (CM), Amanda Bradley.

Amanda’s story is the kind I love. As she’ll tell you, she “grew up at Healthy Living,” and her journey is so inspiring. Take it away, Amanda!

Finding My Place

Having just celebrated my 10-year anniversary with Healthy Living, I truly feel like I’ve grown up here. When I started, I just had a “failed” move and was really struggling to find my place in the world. When I applied, I was simply looking for a job, but I found SO much more.

I interviewed for a back-of-house position, but I like to think they noticed my spark for hospitality right away and instead put me on the Guest Services Desk at our Saratoga store. I had the opportunity to make our guests happy and eventually lead the team as a Front-End Supervisor. I also had the chance to learn the ins and outs of every department—and that led me to Wellness.

Growing at Work (and at Home!)

While working here, I started on my own Wellness journey. When my husband and I decided to expand our family, Healthy Living’s product standards really took on a whole new meaning. I knew I could get everything I needed to keep myself and my future son healthy right from my place of employment—I mean, how cool is that?!

When I returned from maternity leave, I was offered the CM position (my dream job in the company) and eagerly accepted. Now, I get to make decisions that honor our shelf standards so our guests can make confident decisions about their health, no matter where they are on their own wellness journeys.

Additive Free, Guesswork Free

Our standards are rigorous, and it’s not something that I take lightly. I want every guest to know we are taking the guesswork out of choosing great products; that they can purchase any product on our shelves and know that it’s free from artificial and unnecessary additives, fillers, or preservatives.

We make sure there are responsible practices from field, to bottle, to shelf and we take pride in offering products from companies that stand for both people and planet. And I’m so grateful I get to bring the best of the best to all of you, our guests.
