Wine of the Week – Sori Paitin Barbaresco Serra 2007

As the weather turns from warm summer days to cool fall nights, thoughts turn from light summer dishes with white wines to stews, roasts and big hearty reds. One of our favorite wines with comforting fall fare is the great Nebbiolo grape from the Piedmont region of Italy.

Serra pours bright ruby red with aromas of violet, leather, meat, and game. Black cherry, ripe raspberry, brown spices and fennel dominate on the palate followed by black olive and those distinctive Nebbiolo tannins.  Try this with roasts, meat,  game or strong cheeses.

We have sold this wine in the past for over $50 a bottle, due to a switch in importers and a great offer from our distributor we have been able to move the price down to $31.99.

This is a fantastic price for any Barbaresco let alone one of this quality.
