Women in Business: Karie Pastore of Cherish Natural Soaps

1.) What’s your business’ origin story? How did it all start?

I purchased the business in October of 2014. I worked wholesale accounts and farmers markets for the previous owner.

2.) What is the most rewarding part of owning your own business?

I really enjoy providing high quality affordable green laundry detergents as well as a whole line of green cleaning products. We currently participate in 3 farmers markets and have about 15 wholesale accounts.

3.) What are some of the challenges?

Some of the challenges are trying to balance a family, business and everyday life.

4.) Name one company or business owner that you really admire and why:

I really admire Mariaville Farms and Mushroom Men. Their meats are amazing and clean as well as affordable. Their mushrooms are second to none.

5.) What advice do you have for other women out there that might be thinking of starting their own endeavor?

My words of advice are have a clear vision and know where and how you would like to grow your business. It sure isn’t an easy journey but a learning curve. Always provide the best customer service and treat each market and wholesale account individually.
