With fall officially starting tomorrow, apple season is officially underway here in Vermont! With so many great apple options to choose from while making a visit to the orchard, how can you pick just a couple? If you’re like us and plan to have a plethora of apples in your kitchen, but still need a little fresh apple inspiration, Healthy Living has you covered.
Next Tuesday, September 28, Nina Lesser-Goldsmith will hold a demonstration in The Learning Center to share a few of her favorite apple recipes, both sweet and savory. She’ll also share a couple tips on how to preserve these tasty creations so they can be enjoyed throughout the winter and into spring.
Here are a few of the dishes guests will learn how to make and taste:
- Heaping Apple Pie with Cinnamon Ice Cream
- Apple Butter
- Sweet and Sour Apple Chutney with Currants and Star Anise
- Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Apples, Onions and Bacon
- Katy’s Big Apple Pancake
This demonstration is from 5:30-7:30 pm and costs $20. To reserve your place in class, please register here or by calling Customer Service at (802) 863-2569 ext 1.
