Grilled Sweet Potatoes

  • 2 Lbs small garnet sweet potatoes
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • Kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper
  • Crème fraiche or sour cream (optional)

Turn grill on high and place a grill wok on the grates. If you don’t have a grill wok you can also use a wire cooling rack (this is to make sure the potatoes don’t fall through the cracks on your grill). Peel sweet potatoes and slice them in half length wise. In a large mixing bowl, combine sweet potatoes with olive oil, spices, brown sugar and thyme. Season with salt and pepper and toss until evenly coated. Place sweet potatoes in the grill pan in an even layer (if possible) and turn the heat down to medium. Grill for about 15-20 minutes with the cover of the grill down, turning frequently until potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife. Serve with crème fraiche or sour cream to finish.
