Slow and Low Grilled Pork Ribs

  • 3 lbs pork spare ribs
  • BBQ sauce of your choice
  • Salt
  • Vegetable oil

Pork spare ribs, cooked slow and low, and glazed with the barbecue sauce of your choice…need we say more.

Heat your grill from one side (if you are using a gas grill only turn the burners on over one side.  If you are using a charcoal grill build the fire off to one side).  Additionally, if you like you can add a small pan of smoldering wood chips (make sure to get chips suitable for smoking- hickory, mesquite, fruit wood, etc) to one corner of the grill to impart a smoky flavor onto your ribs.  Rub your ribs with a bit of oil and sprinkle them with salt.  Mark them on the fatty side on the hot side of the grill and then move them to the not hot side of the grill.  Close the lid and adjust the temperature so it is somewhere between 200 and 250 degrees.  After 30 minutes turn the ribs over and paint them with BBQ sauce.  Continue to turn and baste them every 30 minutes for anywhere from 3-5 hours or until they are very very tender.  Cut and serve with NAPKINS!
