Korean Style Beef and Broccoli
- 2 lbs Beef Stir Fry Strips, such as flank or sirloin
- 1 lb broccoli, cut into small florets
- 3 large garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
- 1 bunch green onions, sliced thin
- 1 dried chili pepper, minced
- 1 ½ tablespoons hot soybean paste (gochu jang)
- 1 cup soy sauce
- ½ cup water
- 3 tbs cornstarch
- Oil, for cooking
- Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl until all of the cornstarch and sugar is dissolved. Add beef and marinade for at least 30 minutes
- Heat oil in a large saute pan on high. Once the oil is hot add your broccoli and saute until it is bright green and almost tender, about 5 minutes
- Remove the broccoli from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan on medium heat, add more oil. Once the oil is hot, add the marinaded beef and marinade to the pan. Stir frequently and cook until the beef is no longer pink.
- Add broccoli. Stir until broccoli is coated in sauce.
- Remove from heat. Serve with rice.
