Cherie’s Springtime Savory Baked Brie
- 1 package puff pastry
- 5 asparagus spears, trimmed and blanched
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 small wheel brie or camembert
- Salt, to taste
Thaw puff pastry according to package directions. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice asparagus into thin rounds and mix with lemon zest, garlic, and salt to taste in small bowl. Remove puff pastry, cut in half to make two roughly square-shaped pieces. Cut brie through the center into two rounds. Place one round cut side up in the middle of one piece of pastry and top with asparagus mixture. Place remaining half of cheese on top, cut side down. Fold puff pastry up and over cheese, pinching edges together to seal. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until pastry is golden brown. Remove from oven, transfer to platter, and serve with bread or crackers.
