Karen’s Apple Crisp
Apple Filling
- 24 medium apples of your choice such as honeycrisp, peeled and sliced to ½ inch thickness (use enough apples to fill a 9X13 casserole dish- you made need more or less depending on the size)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 6 dabs of butter
Crumb Topping
- 3 cups Oats
- 1 cup flour
- 2 ¼ cups brown sugar
- 3 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 cup melted butter
- Cooking Spray, as needed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9X13 casserole dish with cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the filling ingredients except for the butter. Place the apple mixture into the greased casserole dish. Top the apples with the dabs of butter. In a separate mixing bowl combine all of the ingredients for the crumb topping. Once the mixture is combined, spread the topping on the apples and butter evenly. Bake for 35 minutes. Serve warm with whip cream, ice cream or sharp cheddar cheese.
